Mouse Guard: Fall 1152 #6

A Return To Honor.  The first Mouse Guard series comes to a smashing conclusion as the army of the pretend Black Axe, the turncoat Guard Mouse Midnight, lays siege to Lockhaven.

Mouse Guard is a must-have. The soft palette beautifully captures the woodland setting…it’s lovely, with expressive detail.”  -- Joanna Draper Carlson, www.ComicsWorthReading.com

“...This work is one of immense beauty and quality. I am deeply impressed here.”  -- Alex Ness, www.popthought.com

There's a beautiful richness to Petersen's art … This is one thoroughly attractive book that can't help but entice readers into wanting more.”  -- Greg McElhatton, www.icomics.com

“The art is nothing short of beautiful...Petersen is able, with just a few panels, to make us both fall in love with his characters and feel the presence of their duty. Perhaps the greatest thing about Mouse Guard is that, while its material is both safe for and appealing to children, the story and art are good enough that adults can enjoy the book just as much. To call this a family comic book would not be a stretch. Mouse Guard is truly a rare surprise.”  -- Case Cosker, www.staticmultimedia.com

“Not only is this a visually stunning piece of work, it's also filled with subtle yet strong characterization and storytelling... This is the debut of an artist-writer of real talent and promise, and comes with my highest recommendations for readers of any age.”  -- Bill Baker, Blood in the Gutters

I've really enjoyed this series. To make a brief summation; its The Three Musketeers meets Watership Down. The art is very good, the dialoge brief and to the point. You get enough information to make a good starting point for the creating characters wi [...]

This series should be considered mandatory background material for new Mouse Guard players. Should be bundled with the rules. [...]

I really like the art in this series, but the story is a little sparse. There is so little text that you can get through each issue in about a couple of minutes, and none of the characters are really fleshed out. Many of the events of the series would [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
