[Spanish] Tejiendo olas
by Marc [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/04/2024 13:26:14

Una aventura con un misterio muy interesante donde aparece la paranoia de no saber quién es el malo, un antagonista de los mitos no muy conocido. Ambientada en la costa Balear y que se lee muy a gusto.

Sacred Earth, Sacred Water
by Michael D. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/04/2024 10:00:47

Sacred Earth, Sacred Water sees the creators at Beer with Teeth continue to develop their work in Prax for everyone's benefit. From the layout to the artwork, readers get a real foundation of what players will encounter and what makes Prax special. The flexibilty of the scnearios presented is key for me, as they are easily adjusted for any style or level of play. Add this to your RuneQuest collection for hours of enjoyment.

Jonstown Compendium Catalogue [2023]
by Brian [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/03/2024 11:07:35

This catalogue is indispensable for any serious fan of RuneQuest and Glorantha. It seems some people didn't yet get the memo that the Jonstown Compendium is home to the biggest ever creative explosion for what should be your favourite game and setting. If so, this catalogue is that very memo.

Across 209 pages, it lists every available release on the JC community content programme, with a full page for every significant publication, listing sales, ratings, costs, details of the content, and reviews. The further you read through it, the more you realise just how much great material is available well beyond the best-sellers.

If you somehow aren't already a RuneQuest / Glorantha fan, I'd hope that everything showcased here would convince you quite how well-loved the game and setting are, and quite how talented and creative are the members of its fan community.

Alpaca in the Coffee
by Mark C. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/03/2024 06:06:04

Alpaca in the Coffee is a great take on the modern era style of Call of Cthulhu that offers a wide variety of investigator choices, leaving the scenario open to many routes the players can take before reaching the climax. The scenario is well written and contains rather unique features that offer a few unexpexted turn of events to keep investigators on their toes. The scenario is also easily adaptable to Pulp Cthulhu with optional guides to fit the narrative of a pulp style of play. There is a fixed setting that is rich with description but it can be easily adapted to suit any location, should the need arise. I would highly recommend this title.

Sacred Earth, Sacred Water
by Simon B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/02/2024 08:04:05

My god does this knock it out of the ball park! It’s utterly beautiful, the best portrayal of Prax I’ve ever seen. The artwork is stunning. The layout is excellent. It’s rich, evocative and instantly playable. I literally want to stop my current campaign and run this! The encounters alone are worth their weight in gold. The chaos art is on another level. Well done. Diana Probst, Erin McGuire, Kristi Herbert for text. Juha Heinänen, Lai Suk Yin, Rhys Passafiume and again Diana for art. I only have one regret and that was not buying the PDF when I got the hardback.

Nochet: Queen of Cities (RuneQuest)
by shawn [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/01/2024 22:34:13

this is, without a doubt, one of the most richly detailed urban settings i've seen in rpg and it's honestly one of the best rpg supplements i've seen in recent years.

Alpaca in the Coffee
by Chris [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/01/2024 11:32:46

Another Alpaca Hit in the making... 5/5 Stars

The latest instalment of the Alpaca saga brings either a one shot set in Edinburgh (Actually - Leith, a beautiful suburb of the main city) or the next step in a campaign which is slowly trying to encompass the whole of Scotland. Do you dare stand before the might of the Alpaca!

As a one shot the scenario is a great little set up and allows for a shortish game (one or two sessions) which will give a quick and rapidly escalating series of events leading to a cumulating event that will effect the whole City if unchecked. The use of modern Cafe society and consumerism is handled well and leads to a refreshing take on a 'infection' event.

As a part of the ongoing campaign this charts the latest progression towards the total domination of a left behind entity which has the power to extend its influence unless stopped. Who knows where this will all end....

Though set in the modern era - it is possible to take the basis of the story and convert easily to be used in any era - especially for Pulp as this is directly mentioned in the text.

For those who have bought the previous scenarios in this series, this is a no nonsense buy as it furthers the fun of those earlier games and makes a warm and fuzzy little game full of laughs and terror in equal possibility.

If however you have not bought the other scenario's this is STILL a fantastic buy as it is totally stand alone and after playing this you may want to look up the others - Alpaca in a Sheep Field and Alpaca on a Plane - alternatively grab the bundle of them all... you won't regret it.

Nochet: Adventurer's Guide (RuneQuest)
by Ian S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/31/2023 23:35:19

Nochet Adventyurer's Guide is a supplement to Nochet: Queen of Cities. The Adventurer's Guide is a very practical aid to the GM.

Does someone want to run an adventurer from Nochet, or alternatively from greater Esrolia? This has history and also a choice of Houses to help character generation. Also more occupations suitable to the Esrolian coast, like Sailor and Laborer.

Is a group if Adventurers coming to Nochet? This has a sightseeing guide that detains Nochet's many neighborhoods and helps GM their first few days in this biggest city, Do you want a primer on Nochet society, customes, and a street game? That's The third major section.

There is another addition to character generation for Nochet natives: Generation of several relatioships with other people in Nochet; Friends, foes, etc., all NPCs which the GM may use for casual incidents or adventure hooks or sources of information.

Lists of daily, weekly, and seasonal occasions and religious festivals. More maps of nochet, keyed to the extensive sections on the city's variosu neighborhoods.

Nice art too, and maps.

This is a lot of practical help for the GM new to Nochet, and I have already begun using it.

Cheap at the price, too. 121 pages as of December 2023, and more content is expected in later updates to the PDF. I hungrily await its going into hard copy Print On Demand.

Eurmal's Truth
by Ian S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/31/2023 23:02:26

Eurmal's Truth is a short (two page) murder mystery. It ran in only a fraction of a session, I found it useful as an encounter along the road on a long trip, and it can be plugged into a campaign anywhere from Tarsh to Hendtikiland. Several reasonable cintigencies are covered. The outcome of the adventure will depend on the range of skills and magic in the Adventurer group. It is only two pages, so as you'd expect only one of the characters is detailed much. It takes little GM prep. The GM should think about futher detailing the village chief, adding a lawspeaker and generating a couple of nemes for other members of the community. Worthwhile for the incident it contains, and reasonably priced.

by Laurens [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/30/2023 16:02:57

I was a player in this scenario and I really loved it. The pre-war Portuguese setting was a very unique take with a lot of flavor. The scenario has a few very lovely archetypical scenes and great pacing and escalation.

Japan - Empire of Shadows: A Call of Cthulhu sourcebook for 1920s Imperial Japan
by Douglas [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/29/2023 19:51:43

Ordered the Printed Hardcover copy along with the pdf copy.

First off this thing is a beast, approx 400 pages of material, which is awesome.

The printed hard cover copy looks exquisite. As mentioned in the product description the printed copy does have slightly muted colors compared to the Keepers Rulebook and other Chaosium printed books, but this isnt a bad thing as it adds character to the Japan- Empire of Shadows sourcebook, a setting that is full of character to begin with.

The in addition to the three scenarios book covers a brief history of Japan and its Empire along with myths and Mythos of Japan, a selection of Japanese cities both in Japan and else where in the Empire, equipment and weapons that investigators may find in japan along with transportation and vehicles (including examples of some different aircraft of the era). One of the biggest chapters has to be on Tokyo and its prefectures, which is logical as Tokyo is the Capital and most famous city.

I fully intent to have my investigators making a trip to Japan, along with using some of the info to flesh out Japanese communities in the US such as in San Francisco or New York City, especially with their beliefs and superstitions/myths.

Again this sourcebook is an excellent resource for any CoC keeper looking to take their investigators to places other then inside the US.
