Havoc on Halloween - An Adventure for Use with Supers! Revised Edition
by Marc C. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/23/2020 18:16:35

This is a terrific value. The pre-made characters are interesting, the map graphics are really nicely done (I loved the mall flyer map, such a great idea!) and the scenario information is detailed and creative. Thanks to Twin Flame for publishing this really great download & Happy Halloween!

And Justice for All! v24 - Powerforce
by Chad K. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/11/2020 21:08:18

Love it. Great super hero team. Nice art, write ups on all the team members, background, disadvantages, more. I just wish Twin Flame would combine all the cool Heroes & Villains into POD books. One for Villains, one for Heroes, then maybe another book or two for the teams. Come on.....please?

The Heist - An Introductory Adventure for Use with Supers! Revised Edition
by Chad K. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/11/2020 18:57:58

I did NOT get a free copy of this for review. :) It was worth paying for though. Id give it 4 stars. Good art,4 villain write-ups, three short scenarios. A good starter superhero adventure, though I converted it over to ICONS. This would be a great adventure to bring to a Converntion game or to introduce new players to a Superhero game system. I hope more like this are planned. Id gladly buy a print book of a bunch of scenarios like this put together. Superhero missions are hard to find. Thank you.

Injustice for All! v14 - Super Syndicate
by Quinn M. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/01/2017 18:19:59

If Costco has taught us anything, it is that buying in bulk tends to be cheaper than purchasing in small amounts. With the Super Syndicate, Twin Flame Publishing is giving you 13 villains with two page character descriptions (for the full members) and 11 villains with half page descriptions (for the minor members). All with good artwork too. Having that writer/artist combination in one person is an advantage and it shows in the consistent style and standard of their produts. I'm always a bit jelly of people who can wite AND draw.

There are about four pages devoted to the origin, organization, and strategy used by the Super Syndicate. None of them are world class villains, but as a group they can give just about any team of super heroes trouble. There is quite a mix of Powers too, which makes sense for a group that wants to cover all the bases. This allows them to pull off about any type of crime, but they are geared more for the smaller stuff -not above an old fashioned bank robbery for example. Do you EVER have enough super villains that there is no room in your campaign world for a few more? Probably not.

You also get two adventure ideas for each of the main villains, which is always handy.

I started this review by mentioning value, and Twin Flame Publishing has a line super heroes and super villains you can buy on an individual basis. I've purchased a few of them as they caught my interest (a shout out to 'Cyberhawk' and 'Evolvo') but you get 24 villains with the Super Syndicate for $10. Great value, and no membership fee.

Thanks, Quinn! We appreciate honest feedback and reviews, especially as we experiment with these team and theme products (we're always happy to see feedback in our mailbox). In the very near future, we'll be updating all our stuff to have better optimization/file sizes, bookmarked PDFs for these larger releases, and slightly revised stat block notation to make the character sheets easier to use based on feedback (we'll also be fixing any errors we catch along the way). Most of all, we hope people enjoy what we offer and help bring fans to Supers!

Injustice for All! v01 - Flechette
by Gerald S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 06/19/2016 01:40:35

Disclaimer: I also publish 3rd party material for Supers!, and know the author because of that. I did not get a comp copy of this, but purchased it to support a fellow publisher.

Flechette is an interesting her character. Her main power is the ability to user her nails as weapons. Not just to slash ala Wolverine's claws. She can also fire them at opponents like projectiles. She can also regenerate (and thus grow new nails to never run out of "ammo")

The character is a thief, and is best used in scenarios involving robbing something. I used the character in a demo of The Heist (an intro scenario also by Twin Flame) to bolster the villains in that adventure (and to even the odds with the heroes played in that adventure). She wasn't a major part of the battle, but kept one player tied up the majority of the fight (neither could get the advantage on the other, so they just kept trading blows for most of the fight). That worked out well as that player had to leave during the middle of the fight, so it gave a good reason why they didn't show up.

So, good character concept, interesting power. I think she makes a good opponent for street level heroes, and is also useful as added muscle for a group of villains working together.

Injustice for All! v05 - Echo
by Gerald S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 06/19/2016 00:35:11

I picked this up to use with The Heist, an intro adventure also by Twin Flame, which I ran for Free RPG Day.

I really like the character concept; She's not overly powerful, but the diversity of her abilities still makes her formidable. When I used the character in the scenario, they were effective in helping me move the adventure in the direction it needed to go to reach a satisfying conclusion for the players (by leading them to the main bad guy while bringing said villain an object Echo and other villains were hired to steal).

The character can create duplicates of herself, and when duplicates are about, they have some super strength and super speed, which makes them good opposition for a short time. The character used this to good effect in the scenario, as the heroes couldn't tell the duplicates apart from the original.

I honestly feel this is one of the better villains released for the game so far.

The Heist - An Introductory Adventure for Use with Supers! Revised Edition
by Gerald S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 06/19/2016 00:25:01

Disclaimer: I am a 3rd Party Publisher for Supers! material myself, and thus know the author from the Supers! forums. I was given a comp copy of this, as I had given the author some advice as they were putting this together.

I ran this adventure for Free RPG Day, only adding in 2 more villains Twin Flame released (Echo & Flechette from their Injustice for All series of villains) to compensate for having more heroes than the scenario suggests the adventure works best with.

The Heist is a fairly straightforward adventure that makes a great introductory scenario for anyone running Supers! for the first time. The villains have a precise goal, and their powers range from fairly standard to some nice power sets mechanic wise (to me anyway). The mastermind behind them is an interesting villain, and a diverse set of powers that makes him a challenge even for a small group of heroes. He was able to defend against four heroes easily in the demo I ran, which had them sweating for awhile (and forced them to get creative with their own powers to defeat him)

The artwork is good, and there are three maps provided. I didn't use them when I ran the adventure, but they are definitely handy (especially if you use standees/counters).

All in all, I found this to be a great intro product to use with players brand new to the system. I think it helps them get right into things, and works well when you have a shorter time limit to work with (I had a 2 hour slot to run the game, and we ran over by maybe 3 or 4 minutes)

The Heist - An Introductory Adventure for Use with Supers! Revised Edition
by Quinn M. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 09/21/2015 23:23:46

First, a disclaimer. I received a free copy of this adventure from the author as a "Thanks" for offering some feedback on it. I don't feel that will impact my evaluation of his efforts, but felt I should mention it anyway.

Now, the 'bank robbery' scenario is to the super hero genre what the 'You all meet in a tavern' is to a fantasy game. Yeah, we've seen it many times before, but it works. As this is an adventure written with the new GM (or 'Judge' in the Supers RPG) in mind, it has a lot of helpful suggestions for how to play out the adventure. Even for an experienced gamer, if you are not familiar with the super hero genre, it can be tricky to balance out the adventure. Villain motivations, combat tactics, backgrounds and so on are covered here.

The art is decent, if not up to professional comic art level (and I wouldn't expect that anyway) but above average. The maps are well done, and you could always repurpose them for another adventure down the road too.

This adventure, especially if combined with character creation on the same day, will easily fill up an evening of adventuring, if not more. As a 'starter' type adventure it starts out with lower powered opponents and ramps up as the adventure moves along. Perhaps there is not all that much concern about role-playing, but for a new group of players I think most will be aching to try out their cool super powers on someone or something. In other words, the players will want to jump right into the action! A Judge could easily have the heroes doing a quick TV interview with an on the scene reporter, or interacting with Law Enforcement, to give the players more time to 'act in character'.

Really, at a mere $1.99 sale price, this would be well within my 'impulse buy' range. Even if you don't yet play the Supers RPG, or even (gasp!) prefer a different super hero RPG, this adventure would be very easy to convert over to your favorite system. I was tempted to give it a five start rating, but I have a thing about leaving room for improvement, so imagine it as 4.5 stars. This was written to be a super hero campaign starting adventure, and it does that very well.
