Like the other review mentioned, 52 pages is a great way to start a series, even if it is a mini series. Hannibal Tabu (writer) clearly told the story with fine detail Giancarlo Caracuzzo (art) the artwork was distinct and high quality Flavia Caracuzzo (color) the choice of colors were perfectly matched to fit the story Josephine Roberts (letters) the fonts were an excellent choice The were clear and easy to read. As I ended this issue I felt like a had an understanding of the characters. The vampire intro in the story is a buildup. The issue did end with a slight cliffhanger and I'm anxious to see where this will go.

Big first issue. A bundle deal convinced me (and the review) to take a leap to read this mini series. Pythagoras was a skillful mathematician and philosopher who saw something special in this rebellious slave named Zalmoxis. The names are a little hard to pronounce but being where and the time era of this issue, it makes sense. These 2 are the main characters in the first issue. As this issue is winding down we see a slave girl names Sofia be saved by Zalmoxis. They are all quick to bond and their interests are on the same path. Medea is added to this mix soon after. She is a priestess and seems she may be key to future issues. The writer Hannibal Tabu have given the characters traits very similiar at this point: compassionate, respectful, eager to learn and love for one another. The paneling choices are excellent and really something to take notice of. Also, there are so many different atmospheres that exist in this issue and they are all drawn so differently and so beautifully. Stellar issue. Ends with a cliff hanger and you feel compelled to read the next issue. This creative team has hooked you!

A first issue with 52 pages is a terrific idea. The writer Hannibal Tabu wastes no time in getting you involved with the characters. Tabu also allows the reader time to understand the depth of the characters and bond with them. The page layouts are nicely done. The artist Giancarlo Caracuzzo takes the words and makes the story visually appealing. I truly think Caracuzzo had fun with this story line. The colorist Flavia Caracuzzo was successful of using the colors to match the intential effect of each time period. Leterring by Josephine Roberts was clean, easy to read and precise. This vampire issue has been set up well to intrigue the reader to continue the story and journey of Pythagoras and Zalmoxis. We see the character Sofia and Medea enter towards the end of the issue. This seems like an interesting "team"
