Champions: The Super Hero Role Playing Game (3rd Edition)

Played it in the 80's. You design your own superhero with the included rules and go forth and do superhero things after. Hero creation takes a while but you can make just about any superhero you've seen in comics or movies. It's points based and you get experience so your hero can get more powerful or get skills to be more effective with the powers you have. 3d6 rolls for skill execution and combat is a d6-fest counting total and number of dice to do stun damage and killing damage, as well as knockback. It's a very good similution of comic heroes and action. Movement is expressed in inches and hexes (1" hexes) so using ~28mm miniatures works well.

The pdf doesn't have tabs to let you jump around but it's very clean and legible so I don't think it's page scans from a book.

Atomic Highway - Post Apocalyptic Roleplaying

I'm not a fan of games that work from d6 rolls because the +1 modifier is so huge and without a bunch of dice, the luck factor overpowers skill and strategy. This ruleset is different. The stat determines #d6 and the skill is the # of die offsets. Simple but very effective.

Can't be the post apocalyptic setting.

Future Armada: Vanguard Station

I don't normally gush about pdf downloads, but wow. This is the first Future Armada product I have purchased, but it won't be my last. I am always looking for good maps to for my RPG and miniature scenarios. This is great for sci fi.

B&W and color maps. Crew and backstory if you need it. External rendered drawings for props.

I was looking for a small underground lab for a post apoclyptic setting. This will work with minimal changes (don't need the escape pods and substitue elevator for 0g shaft).

Very satisfied.

Like the Song of Blades & Heroes, it's a simple system that has enough bells and whistles to differentiate special powers/abilities of monsters/individuals.

It reminds me of the original Gamma World that TSR published in the 80's, but for miniatures.

Very pleased with the fantasy miniature skirmish rules. It keeps everything simple without stripping the game down to something so generic there isn't really a difference between monsters or individuals.

PDF was good.

The animals/monsters/mutants are described, illustrated (almost every one gets a sketch), and described. The description has where it came from (deliberate experiment, accident, etc.) and how it behaves. Very good.

If you had the original Gamma World game and remember the technology items, it's all in there. However it's been updated, like no more key cards, they do it with nanites. Makes good sense.

Quality of the pdf is good.

It gives some good ideas. It doesn't have any maps. It's all presented as narratives of someone visiting an area of Earth in the Gamma World setting. There are a couple new monsters and classes but it's mostly prose descriptions of parts of the world to inspire campaign settings.

I'm not giving it a particularly good rating because I won't find it that helpful. If some campaign ideas are what you're after, it's good.
